Delete your Copio account

This is permanent on the server.

Account erasure signs out and revokes every device, deletes your server-side account data, encrypted clips, files, folders and snippets, and cannot be undone. Your vault is unrecoverable after deletion, even with your recovery key, unless you keep a device or a backup file that already holds it.

Before you delete

Export first. Settings, then Export my data, produces an encrypted .copio-backup file you can import later on any platform.
Cancel any subscription. Erasing the account does not cancel a plan billed by Apple or Google; cancel it in the store first. On Mac and web, send the cancellation request described in the refund policy (Settings, then Privacy and legal, then Raise a grievance with the subject "Cancel my subscription", or email admin@bighelpers.in) or cancel the mandate from your UPI app, and ask for any refund before you erase. Have your password ready. Every platform asks for your current account password to confirm.

Where the control is on each platform

The screen is the same everywhere: it is headed Delete your account permanently and lists what will happen. Here is how to reach it.

iPhone and iPad: open Copio, tap Account, then Delete account.
Mac: click the Copio icon in the menu bar, open Settings, choose Account, then Delete account.
Android: open Copio, tap Account, then Delete account.
Web: sign in at copioapp.com/app, open Settings and choose Delete account, or go straight to copioapp.com/app/settings.html#delete.
Browser extension: the extension has no delete control. Use any of the paths above. Reset this browser in the extension only clears the copy on that browser; it does not touch your account.

Confirming the deletion

Read the summary of what will be erased and what will be kept.
Enter your current account password.
Tick I understand my vault is unrecoverable after deletion, even with my recovery key.
Choose Delete permanently.
When the request is accepted this device is signed out of sync, every other device is revoked by the server, and a confirmation email is sent to your address.

What is deleted

Every device is signed out and its access token revoked immediately.
Your encrypted clips, files, folders and snippets are erased from the server.
Name, email, mobile number, photo, username and passkeys are erased.
Rules, pairings, subscriptions and billing references, nominee and grievance data are erased.
Invoices are kept only as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, then erased.
Consent and erasure logs are retained as the Act requires, without your content. An anonymised record that an erasure completed is hard-deleted after 30 days.

What remains on your device

The independent encrypted local vault stays on each device, so that a server action cannot silently destroy your only local copy. If you also want the device copy removed, uninstall Copio and remove its local app data after the server confirms erasure. Export anything you need first; the recovery key cannot restore server data after account erasure.

If you cannot sign in

Email admin@bighelpers.in from the address associated with the account. We will provide a proportionate identity-verification path and treat the request as a grievance: acknowledged within 2 working days and resolved within 30 days. Never email your password, recovery key, backup passphrase, access token or clipboard content.
