One clipboard. Every device you own.
Copio captures what you copy, encrypts it on your device, and has it waiting on the next screen you touch. No re-typing, no chat-to-self, no losing the code you copied thirty seconds ago.
Every device
Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android and your browser. Copy on one, paste on any other, with a target of under three seconds at p95.
OTP smart paste
Codes from Indian senders are spotted, shown big, and vanish after three minutes. They are never synced to the server, on purpose.
Zero knowledge
Clips are encrypted on your device before they leave it. Our servers hold ciphertext they cannot open. Even we cannot read your clips.
Paste in one gesture
A global hotkey on Mac with number-key instant paste, a floating bubble on Android, a keyboard bar on iOS and a right-click entry in your browser.
Copy. Encrypt. Paste.
Three steps, and only the first one is yours to do.
You copy something
On Mac, Copio watches the clipboard and captures the moment you copy. On Android it captures through a foreground service, an accessibility helper or the optional Copio Keyboard. On iPhone and iPad, Apple forbids background clipboard reads, so you paste into Copio or send it through the share sheet. We will never claim otherwise.
Your device encrypts it
Every clip gets its own random key and is sealed with AES-GCM-256. That key is wrapped under a vault master key that only your paired devices hold. The server receives ciphertext plus the little metadata it needs to route and expire it.
It is waiting on the next screen
Open the picker, hit the hotkey, tap the bubble or right-click in your browser. Folders, expiry rules and pinned snippets keep the list short, and OTP clips count themselves down to nothing.
Even we cannot read your clips.
Copio is zero-knowledge by construction, not by promise. Encryption happens on your device. Our servers in India store ciphertext they have no key for. Lose every device and your recovery key, and nobody can help you, not even us. That is the point.
- Per-device Curve25519 identity keys, with the vault key wrapped to each new device at pairing.
- A six-digit code or QR pairs a new device, verified the way a secure messenger does it.
- Your account password authenticates you. It is never the thing that encrypts your clips.
- Unlock the vault with a passkey, biometrics or a PIN. OTP clips never leave the device at all.

What the operating systems actually allow, what encryption really buys you, and what India's data protection law asks of an app like this.
Why Android will not let an app read your clipboard in the background
Android 10 closed background clipboard access for every app. Here is what is left, and how Copio uses it honestly.
EncryptionZero knowledge, in plain words
Per-clip keys, wrapped vault keys and why losing your recovery key means losing the vault. No hand-waving.
